Chapter-8 |Devil eye|

Ishani Pov:-

(Wedding day)

Finally, today is the wedding ceremony. My heart was pounding with excitement. After so many days of preparation, tension, shopping, and sleepless nights, the big day had arrived. Finally, my bhaiya found the love of his life.

I spotted him in his wedding sherwani—it fit him perfectly, highlighting his tall figure and calm confidence. My lips curled into a proud smile. He looked like a king.

“Choti,” Bhaiya’s voice pulled me from my thoughts. He looked at me warmly, “you look beautiful.”

I blushed, twirling slightly in my light green lehenga. My makeup was soft, and my hair cascaded loosely over my shoulders.

“You also look very handsome, Bhaiya. I think after today, half the girls here will be jealous of Bhabi.”

He chuckled and leaned closer, lowering his voice. “By the way, is your bhabi ready?”

He looked left and right, as if checking if someone was listening to his nervousness.

I laughed at his impatient face. “Have patience, Bhaiya! I’m going to check her. Don’t worry.” With a teasing smile, I left for Bhabi’s room.

---

I reached her room.

Inside, the air smelled of roses and sandalwood.

“Bhabi, are you ready?” I called, knocking lightly.

“Come in, Isha. I’m almost ready,” she replied.

When I stepped in, my eyes widened. She looked breathtaking in her bridal attire. The red lehenga shimmered under the lights, her jewelry gleamed, and her face glowed with happiness.

“Woooow, Bhabi! You look so, so beautiful. My brother is definitely going to fall in love with you all over again today,” I teased, pressing my palms to my cheeks dramatically.

She blushed deeply while adjusting her dupatta. From the corner, Anjali Bhabi burst into laughter.

“You’re right, Isha. Poor Avi is going to have a hard time looking away from her.”

“Okay, Anjali Bhabi,” I said with a grin, “you stay here with her. I’ll go check on my poor restless brother.”

“Go, go,” she said, still laughing, “we’ll manage here.”

---

I ran to Bhaiya’s room, but instead of him, I found Anuj Bhai standing there, browsing through Bhaiya’s watch collection.

“Anuj Bhaiya, where is Avi Bhaiya?” I asked curiously.

He turned to me, holding a watch. “He went downstairs to welcome the guests.”

“Ohh, okay.” I was about to leave when he stopped me.

“Isha, take this watch to him. It matches his sherwani. Actually… I’m going to meet your Anjali Bhabi,” he added, and his ears turned red.

I smirked immediately. “Ohhh… don’t worry, I’ll give this to Bhaiya. You go meet Bhabi. And yes… she’s looking very beautiful. You might fall in love again too,” I said, mimicking his blush with an exaggerated face.

He glared at me lightly, but his blush deepened before he walked away quickly. I giggled and skipped downstairs, holding the watch.

---

The hall was crowded with guests in dazzling outfits. I scanned left and right, searching for Bhaiya. After weaving through groups of people, I finally spotted him standing with Samir Bhaiya, talking to two men.

I started walking toward them, smiling. But the moment I saw one of those men’s faces, I froze mid-step.

My heart slammed against my chest. My breath hitched. My vision blurred.

Those eyes.

The same familiar, piercing brown eyes.

The same eyes I had prayed never to see again.

The devil himself.

Ekansh Singh Rathor.

A chill ran through my entire body. My feet refused to move.

Bhaiya noticed me and waved. “Choti, come here! Meet my childhood best friends.”

Best… friends? My nightmare… my brother’s best friend?

Samir Bhaiya came closer, gently pulling me toward them.

“Why did you stop? Are you okay?” Bhaiya asked, concern in his voice.

I nodded faintly, but no words left my mouth. My throat was dry, my palms sweaty.

Bhaiya gestured proudly. “Choti, meet my best friends—Ekansh Singh Rathor and Siddhant Rajvanshi. Siddh, Ekansh, meet my sister, Ishani.”

I blinked, but the world felt like it was spinning. How… how could this be?

Then came the voice I dreaded. Smooth, mocking, and cruelly familiar.

“Nice to meet you, kitten,” Ekansh drawled, smirking, his eyes locking onto mine without a blink.

Every muscle in my body tensed. I inhaled sharply, realizing only then that I had been holding my breath. My lips trembled, and my fingers clutched the watch tighter, almost painfully.

His smirk deepened, clearly amused at my reaction. His gaze didn’t waver for even a second, as if he was enjoying my discomfort.

Breaking the tension, Siddhant smiled politely. “Hi, Ishani. It’s really nice to meet you.” His tone was gentle, kind, the exact opposite of the devil standing beside him.

I tried to reply, but my voice cracked. “Bh-bhaiya… I-I’m g-going… to my room,” I stuttered, my words breaking in between.

Before anyone could stop me, I turned and ran, my heart pounding in my ears. I didn’t
